Il museo

The Municipal Museum of Ittireddu, inaugurated on July 14th, 1984 represents one of the first examples of an exhibition strictly connected to the concept of "archaeology of the territory" in Sardinia, fulfilling an "historic" role in a trend that was subsequently followed by other municipalities during the following decades. Thirty years later the structure and layout of the Museum have been revisited and replaced with an exhibition of artefacts found during subsequent searches.

Territory of Ittireddu

The town of Ittireddu is located at the foot of three mountains, Monte Ruju, Monte Zuighe and the extinct volcano of Monte Lisiri. Its territory is mainly characterised by hills and the presence of man has been attested to since ancient times. The town is characterised by a vibrant culture which focuses on cultural attractions in order to develop other economic and existential prospects.
